All Work and No Play?

Things have been hectic around here the last few weeks.  We have been really focused on our classes and other school related activities.  Here is a quick breakdown of what we have been up to:

Adan has been heavily involved with sports.  Although he did not coach volleyball this year, he played the role of "lead official" for many games during the season (see pic).  The QSI Dongguan Triton teams fared alright competing in their first-ever conference tournament.  The girls finished in fifth place out of eight teams, and the boys ended up seventh.  Considering we earned our first-ever school victories earlier in this same season, we held our own.  Now we move on to basketball.  The first official practice is November 1.  Here we go again!

As for Pazi, she's decided to pursue her Master's degree taking one course per semester online.  Balancing her classroom planning and coursework will be a challenge, but she is excited to take this on.  She's using NNU's virtual program out of Nampa, Idaho, which is designed for both brick and mortar and virtual classes.  Additionally, she is serving on the social committee for our school and her first big task will be planning our school's annual Thanksgiving celebration.  Since our school keeps growing, it will be interesting to see how we can pull off such a large event.

On a different note, this past Friday was our Halloween party for students.  Each year we put together a "Fall Carnival" where the older students and teachers create carnival games for the younger students to play and win prizes.  Pazi's activity was the M&M Challenge.  This game consisted of students needing to transfer M&M candies from one bowl to another, but the trick was to do so using chopsticks.  Adan's activity was Radical Ring Toss.  Students had the opportunity to win prizes of all shapes and sizes depending on the difficulty level of their toss.  If the student got the ring around the prize, they won.

As we said earlier, school has consumed us lately and therefore not a lot to report on.  The next two weeks will be different though.  Be on the look out for a new post in a couple of weeks with a photo slide show and details from our latest weekend getaway.
